Grouping on Basis of Transparency

Transparency  :  Different materials allow different amount of light to pass through them depending on a property called transperancy .Materials can be classified into three types based on the transparency :

1. Transparent  material : If most the light can pass through an object, it is called as transparent material. Eg: glass, water etc.

2. Translucent material : If the light pass through object partially, it is called as translucent. Eg : oiled paper, coloured glass.

3. Opaque material : If no light can pass through the object , it is called as opaque. Eg : wood, stone, metal and cardboard.
